Leads, manages and monitors inventory levels, on-time shipment of finished goods, warehousing/shipping of goods, and the receipt, and storage of raw materials.- Takes complete ownership of material movement and storage from start to finish.
- Establishes inventory objectives and assumes responsibility for inventory turns (stock rotation). Reviews identify and minimize obsolete inventory. Recommends disposition within established guidelines.
- Develops, manages, and maintains departmental plans, and budgets to ensure management goals and objectives are met.
- Responsible to provide the support that allows for an atmosphere that ensures compliance with the company’s quality and safety policies and procedures.
- Enforce company and safety rules, document violations and propose necessary disciplinary actions.
- Responsible for managing local 3PL costs by ensuring proper inventory rotation and reduced transfers between 3PL to Manufacturing Sites
- Responsible for maintaining accurate inventory levels, accurate recording of all transfers of incoming or outgoing stock, forecasting product flow and adhering to shipping timeframes.
- Oversee Shipping and Receiving functions and ensure that all employees are certified for all forklifts, pallet jacks and pump truck drivers.
- Responsible for ensuring physical inventory accuracy against MRP system- SAP by conducting inventory cycle counts with monthly completion and accuracy requirements >98%
- Improve the processes of operation and physical organization of the warehouse.
- Works closely with the accounting team & plant operations to do the monthly reconciliation of inventories and provide reports.
- Maintain efficiency by utilizing effective supervision of staff; assign and schedule work duties based on priorities, manage worker performance and monitor and control attendance and overtime.
- Effective communication with Operations Managers, Department Supervisors and warehouse staff to resolve issues, and problems and strive for continuous improvement initiatives.
- Ensure compliance with the policies and regulations of the company.
- Create an atmosphere that fosters teamwork and understanding.
- Oversee, coordinate and be responsible for all activities in the warehouse, ensuring Safety, Quality, Cost, Delivery and Morale are maintained and OHSA and regulations are adhered to.
- In charge of multiple storage rooms within 2 facilities and third Party Logistics providers’ warehouse.
- Participate and collaborate in the development and special projects for continuous improvement.
- Effective implementation and adherence to the company’s Food Safety and Quality Policies and Procedures including but not limited to SQF, HACCP and GMP to ensure food safety and quality of products manufactured.
Requirements
- Bachelor of administration, management of operations or any other training
- 5-8 years experience as a Warehouse Manager in a food manufacturing environment.
- Familiar with a manual inventory process with lots of complexity
- Strong knowledge of GMP and Health and Safety regulations
- Experience in allergen management in a CFIA-regulated facility
- Experience with inventory management software (SAP) and Office Suite
- Strong working knowledge of Lean/5s principles
- Experience with process improvement and implementation
- Forklift and aerial lift certification
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with strong multitasking, communication and problem-solving capabilities
- Experience in personnel management with strong leadership, organizational and planning skills
